Prime Minister Petteri Orpo’s government is a shame, filled with opportunistic politicians trying to capitalize on brown and black children. Apart from being unqualified to lead Finland, they are a constant reminder of the country’s growing racism problem.
The anti-immigration Perussuomalaiset (PS)* party doesn’t want migrants and minorities to be a part of society. Their exclusion ensures political meat for their racist politics and worldview.
Rydman recently wrote: “One of the most cruel consequences of immigration is how it deprives children and young people in the suburbs of the opportunity to attend school and learn in a safe environment.”
One matter is for certain: Migrants will never have equal rights and their cultures respected as long as we fight racism with frail sticks. It implies that minorities will have a long political struggle ahead of them.
