We’ve all read about Perussuomalaiset (PS)* MP Laura Huhtasaari, the conservative anti-immigration politician who believes that Muslims are a security risk for Finland. In a Facebook post below she’s at it again but this time she labels and attacks all migrants.
But before we get to the story, I want to confess that when I write these types of stories, and there have been many of them, I sometimes feel like one of the space travelers in the Alien movie below, who is eating with his buddies and then a baby monster bursts rudely from his chest. The monster that I carry is similar and comes in the form of a racist insult or xenophobic comment by a politician. Like the baby Alien, the statement enters my mind as I write and then bursts out when I click the publish button.
I feel as well that these stories play an important role since they are published in English, which means that lots of people in Europe, like politicians, policy-makers and journalists, can read about the sad things going on in Finland today.
The PS MP from Pori writes on her Facebook wall that the Trade Union of Education (OAJ) got in touch with her and expressed their concern about hefty government cutbacks in education.
Huhtasaari is a special education teacher.
She continues: “They [OAJ] told me how many challenges there are in teaching immigrants. And then they told me that the situation is so bad in Sweden that there are some suburbs inhabited by immigrants where it’s impossible to hire qualified teachers because they don’t dare go there. I told them that I know this and want to lower the amount of immigrants coming to Finland. They disagreed. Why? I didn’t understand why.”
One person commented on her Facebook wall that they didn’t want to lower the number of immigrants coming to Finland because teachers have been “brainwashed by multiculturalism.”
Taking into account the rapid graying of the population and the fact that we need skilled immigrants Finland has politicians like Huhtasaari that want fewer immigrants.
Imagine, too many politicians in Finland believe that the only kind of immigration that the country needs is the type that will keep our society white.
* The Finnish name for the Finns Party is the Perussuomalaiset (PS). The English-language names of the party adopted by the PS, like True Finns or Finns Party, promote in our opinion nativist nationalism and xenophobia. We therefore prefer to use the Finnish name of the party on our postings.

There’s some truth to what she says about Muslims being a security risk…. They are!!… Tell me, where in any non-Muslim country, are they happy and have assimilated into the local population like most other immigrations at least make an attempt? Every western country to which Muslims have emigrated to ends up having a problem with them…. Even in the USA…. they demand that food banks serve up Halal food… They live in ghettos and their mosques preach hatred against the local population that ostensibly accepted them (most claimed refugee status IE: Somalis) and now conduct a quiet war on their hosts … If you are not aware of this then you’re not reading the foreign press…. from the UK / USA / Germany / Holland…. in Sweden, the Muslim minority has the media so pussified they won’t even print about the atrocities committed by their Muslim guests…. Canada just enacted a law that tightens up anti-terrorist laws and people convicted will lose citizenship and be deported…. it’s a step in the right direction…. and I’ve no/no problem with it, if Finland were to institute such security measures to contain criminal/terrorist activity within the confines of the borders…..I’m all for it…. damned straight I am….

When you ask if Muslims are “a threat” I could likewise ask if Finns are a risk/threat since they commit most of the crime in this country. Jokela and other sad cases of mass killings, never mind men who kill their wives and children before taking their own lives, are stark reminders of how dangerous Finns are to this country.
